Fluoro printing

The sun finally decided to make an appearance this weekend, so I decided to take full advantage and show off my lovely tan that I worked so hard on in Turkey! It definitely called for a new outfit and trusty Topshop had the perfect choice.

I fell in love with these trousers instantly, they are a little bold and not what I would usually go for, but with the nice weather and my glowing tan, I thought why not?  They are not actually that bright, the camera flash has picked out the pinky orange and made it stand out more.  So my choice to team it with a flouro orange top does not look as crazy as it sounds :)

Strappy cami tops are very popular on the highstreet at the minute.  This one is from Topshop but I also picked up some in Primark, they look just as good and at just £5 they are perfect even for day time to spice up jeans!

The Topshop one is cut really low at the back which adds something extra to it...and shows off the brownest part of my tan !!

To keep with the summer vibe, I pulled out my brand new Kurt Geiger sandals...which I am supposed to be saving for graduation, but I just could not resist! I love these shoes, they are my comfiest ever.  The instep is evened out by the wedge meaning my feet can dance all night long.

I'm practising wearing all this flouro for when I go to Thailand's full moon party during my travels.  I think its safe to say after this, I am well prepared!

It’s a jungle out there!

H&M’s conscious collection hit stores in March with the lovely Vanessa Paradis fronting the ad campaign.  Now I am not one for rushing to stores when a new collection is unveiled (take the Rihanna for River Island collaboration for example…after seeing the poor quality at her London Fashion Week debut I was not about to indulge in her collection).  However, I have bought from H&M’s ‘Fashion against aids’ and other such collections in the past, so I was intrigued by their 2013 drop!

Much to my delight the collection is impressive.  The jungle prints are beautifully designed in rich colours….with a particularly eye-catching green as the main focus, which is perfect for tropical destinations.  (Not England right now as the weather is still gloomy and cold!).

Mum is off to Barbados in a few weeks so I did my best styling and she snapped up a few of the key pieces from the range.  She has always loved a maxi dress, and being so tall they always look great so this printed one is perfect for the tropical evenings in Barbados!

It nips in at the waist to highlight curves and the detail on the back eliminates the need for heavy accessorising as the dress does all the talking.  This would be a little trickier to dress down back in the English weather but I’m sure it will be a wardrobe favourite for the odd barbeque over the summer!

In the same print are trousers, beautifully made in a lightweight and flattering silhouette.  The trousers can be worn anywhere and look fab teamed with a simple white vest from Warehouse and allow for lots of accessories up top!  Luckily H&M’s jewellery has also had a re-vamp this season so there was lots of choice to spice up any outfit.

On our shopping trip, we also stumbled across this fab denim jacket from Topshop (which I shall be stealing from mum as I love it!!).  It goes with everything as a given, but teamed with the trousers makes them more wearable for the British summer, meaning they don’t have to hide away for a rare spot of sunshine :)

There are lots of other beautiful items in the conscious collection such as this top I managed to snap up before mum got to it! It means I can inject a little bit of the jungle into my wardrobe easily and the slightly more muted tones make it office friendly too…to brighten up those gloomy days at the office!

Also don't forget to check out the 'party range' within the conscious collection.  The pieces are a little more expensive but the craftmanship and delicate detail makes it worth the price!  The stunning white lace dress is one of my favourite pieces, at £200 it is an investment but one worth making in my opinion!  Not forgetting that the collection is sustainable and for a good cause which in itself justifies the price tag.....

Long lost friend...

As you probably noticed…I have been away for a while.  Not through lack of inspiration or loss of love for Tilly but simply due to stress of my finals, moving out of my uni flat forever (sob!), and sneaking in a cheeky girl’s holiday to celebrate being free forever!!
To make up for it, I have compiled lots of new posts to be uploaded over the next week.  There will be a few more than normal as I have back dated all the interesting things I have found  but not been able to write about over the past month.  So I apologise once again to my dear Tilly, but I am back with a fashion vengeance…and a credit card burning a hole in my well styled trouser pocket!
